Albion Boothby was born in Maine, January 11, 1841.
He moved to Oregon as a young man and became a "timber baron" and was one of the founding fathers of Prospect, Oregon. He married Margaret Jenny Nolan at the house of the bride's father in Jackson County on a Sunday August 18, 1872. The preacher's name was M.A. Williams. They had seven children. He passed away on May 29, 1925 and is buried in the "Nye" family plot near Prospect, Oregon.
He founded a hotel,
the Prospect Hotel which still stands and is now being used
as a bed and breakfast. Ask for the "Boothby room"
